• [About the Feel fabric]
  Thank you for always choosing JUBAN DO ONI.
  There is something we want to tell you honestly about the fabric of the Feel series.
  
  From now on, Feel will gradually change to a fabric that is a little thinner and lighter than before.
  Those of you who have worn Feel for a long time will probably notice the difference as soon as you pick it up.
  
  - Why is it thinner? -
  The Feel fabric reaches us through a supplier who imports organic cotton yarn and arranges for the fabric to be made in a domestic textile region.
  Recently, that supplier contacted us: the craftsperson who had been in charge of this fabric for many years at the knitting factory had left.
  Even though the fabric is made by machine, the fine adjustments to thickness and texture, made while watching the yarn and the machines, rely on human experience and feel. It has been hard to find someone who can make those adjustments, and it became difficult to finish the fabric at the same thickness as before.
  
  They continued looking into the cause, and as things gradually became clearer, they reported that they should be able to get close to the previous thickness.

  - Why we chose this fabric anyway -
  However, when we made samples from the thinner fabric we received, we were surprised at how wonderfully light it felt on the skin.
  What worried us most was the stretch. The proportion of polyurethane is the same as before, but we wondered whether the thinner fabric would weaken its ability to spring back after stretching (the "kickback").
  When we actually tried it, there was no need to worry: it follows the body lightly and firmly.
  
  We decided to sell Feel in the new fabric alongside the previous fabric, rather than waiting to switch over. Waiting would have meant big differences in when each item and color moved to the new fabric. We also want both those who love the previous fabric and those who want to try the lighter one to be able to choose.
• - What is happening where things are made -
  This experience also made us think again about the people who support our manufacturing.
  Across Japan, sewing and textile factories are facing aging craftspeople and a lack of successors, and more and more skills are being lost simply because "there is no one who can make it." Even a single piece of cloth that we take for granted is made with someone's hands and experience.
  
  Since our founding, JUBAN DO ONI has carefully made things in small lots with the help of the people who make our fabric and the people who sew.
  We will continue to work with the people who make our products, choosing what is best at each moment and delivering it to you.
